What Our Customers Say

‘Netfixx went above and beyond when they recently helped us to renew our EICR certificate with very short notice. As landlords we were told only a few days before tenants were due to move in that the EICR certificate needed updating. Netfixx moved appointments to fit us in and worked till late in the evening to fix an electrical problem that was found, so we could pass the test. As overseas landlords we could not be onsite and they not only kept us informed throughout but were incredibly flexible (getting keys and letting in other workers in the house for plumbing, decoration works whilst they were there etc.) which was super helpful to our situation. We have also used Netfixx for other work 3-4 times before and each time they have shown the same flexibility and professionalism besides the high quality of work. I strongly recommend them’.
‘I had lost all power in my Kitchen. Netfixx turned up within an hour of my call and immediately made my kitchen safe as I had been left with live, exposed wires by a previous cowboy. Netfixx then carried out an extensive 4 hour electrical survey, explained what needed to be done, how long it would take (baring unforeseen incidents) and gave me an estimate of the costs. The work was done when they said it would be, as they said it would be – by a very tidy and cheerful Electrician, it took as long as they said it would and they came back a few days later to check everything was OK. The bill was presented within an acceptable time period and was within the range of the estimate. I would be happy to recommend Netfixx as I am pleased with both their work and their personnel (- who love Bacon Butties) Thank You Netfixx’.
‘I would highly recommend this company for electrical services. I found them on the NICEIC certification website and was impressed with the diligence and can-do attitude of their qualified electrician, Robert. Professional, polite and reliable service’.

Frequently Asked Questions.

A tripping circuit breaker can be a frustrating issue, but it’s an important safety feature. Circuit breakers trip to prevent electrical fires and protect your home from damage. Common reasons for a tripping circuit breaker include:

  • Overloaded Circuit: Too many devices connected to a single circuit can cause it to overload. To fix this, redistribute the load by plugging devices into different circuits.

  • Short Circuit: This occurs when a ‘live’ wire comes into contact with a neutral wire or the earthing to an installation. Identifying and repairing the damaged wiring is crucial.

  • Faulty Electrical Equipment: If a specific appliance consistently causes the breaker to trip, it may be faulty and require repair or replacement

Flickering lights can be caused by several issues:

  • A Loose Bulb or Fixture: Ensure the bulb is securely screwed in and the fixture is properly connected.

  • Voltage Fluctuations: High-demand appliances can cause voltage drops, leading to flickering lights. Consider having an electrician install a dedicated circuit for these appliances.

  • Wiring Issues: Loose or outdated wiring can cause flickering. Have an electrician inspect and repair the wiring if necessary

Electrical shocks can be dangerous and are often caused by faulty wiring or appliances:

  • Faulty Wiring: Improper installation, worn-out wires, or damaged insulation can cause shocks. Disconnect the supply at the consumer unit, unplug the device immediately and have a qualified electrician inspect the wiring.

  • Faulty Appliances: Damaged cords or internal wiring in appliances can pose a risk. Stop using the appliance and have it checked by a professional.

Sparking socket outlets can be alarming and indicate a potential electrical hazard. Here are some common causes and solutions:

  • Loose Connections: Over time, the connections inside an outlet can become loose, causing sparks when you plug in or unplug devices. To fix this, turn off the power to the outlet at the circuit breaker and tighten the connections. If you’re not comfortable doing this yourself, it’s best to call a licensed electrician.

  • Short Circuits: A short circuit occurs when the ‘live’ wire touches the neutral or anything connected to the earthing system, causing a sudden surge of electricity. This can create sparks and potentially start a fire. If you suspect a short circuit, turn off the power to the outlet and have it inspected by a professional.

  • Faulty Outlets: Outlets can wear out over time, especially if they are frequently used. If an outlet is old or damaged, it may spark when you use it. Replacing the outlet with a new one can resolve the issue.

  • Overloaded Circuits: Plugging too many devices into a single outlet can overload the circuit, causing sparks. To prevent this, avoid using multiple high-wattage devices on the same outlet and consider redistributing your devices across different circuits.

If you notice sparking outlets, it’s important to address the issue promptly to avoid potential hazards. If you’re unsure about the cause or how to fix it, always consult a licensed electrician for assistance.
